A4 vs US Letter calendar
A4 and US Letter look similar but they are not the same size, and mixing them up is the number one cause of odd calendar printouts. The fix is simply to tell the generator which one you are using.
A4 vs US Letter calendar sections

The two sizes
- A4 is 210 × 297 mm. It is the default paper in Europe, Asia, Australia and most of the world outside North America. It is taller and slightly narrower than US Letter.
- US Letter is 8.5 × 11 in. It is the default in the United States and Canada. It is a little wider and shorter than A4.
Both are offered in the generator's Paper size setting, alongside A3 and Legal.
How to choose
- Look at the paper in your printer tray. That is your answer: A4 or US Letter.
- Set the generator's Paper size (Layout tab → Page setup) to match.
- Leave the print dialog at 100% scale so nothing is stretched or cropped.
Tips
- Printing A4 settings onto Letter paper crops the bottom and leaves side margins — and vice versa. When a calendar "nearly fits", this is why.
- Sharing a calendar PDF internationally? A4 is the safer default for recipients outside North America; the file has no paper of its own until it is printed.
Mini-FAQ
- Does the paper size change the calendar design?
- The design stretches to the page. Tall formats like Yearly gain room from A4's extra height; wide multi-month layouts like Landscape Letter.
